Alternator fit

Hi, I recently ordered an HO alternator and I noticed it has a smaller pulley than my oem alternator.

1- Anyone know why?

2- What's the exact difference in performance and/or output between a big pulley and a smaller pulley on an alternator?

The smaller pulley creates more revolutions per minute this creating more idle output

A ho alt shouldnt really need cooling..they all get hot..get a belt 1/2" shorter than stock belt to reduce slippage due to high rms

I'd go an inch shorter and, alternators have built in cooling fins. As long as it's spinning, it's cooling.

Wouldn't that faster spinning just make it wear out faster? Especially ones using the same case?

Like Nasty said, they come with smaller pulleys. But yeah, I'd recommend it too.
