Alternator Draw Question!

How much amperage will two amps running at 1150w rms pull from my alternator?

I was wondering because my alternator is rated at 105 amps max and I'd like to avoid dimming lights and straining the electrical system.

The major problem is that I cannot for the life of me find a hi output alternator made for my car.

It's a 2005 Grand Prix if anyone knows where I can get one.

get more batts....
ill guess about

80 amp pull at max per amp... what size fuse is on the amps... thats the best way to tell
The amp for the components is a 20 amp fuse. The sub amp is an AudioQue 1200D and has 3x 40 amp fuses.

The Hifonics BXi1208D has an 80 amp fuse but has the same rated output as the AudioQue. Can someone explain why they use fuses with different ratings?

In my case, does it make sense to go with the Hifonics for this reason alone even though I hear the AQ is a much better SQ amp?

Nothing is purchased yet, I'm trying to get everything drawn out so I can take care of everything at once.

honestly you arent going to be able to tell a difference... 105 amp alty is decent... but i suggest changing out your stock batt to a audio specific batt or yellow top... and if you see dimming from there to add a 2nd battery.

I disagree a good audio quality alt that reacts fast will reduce dimming. i would contact Mechman for an alt i bet you they have something.
im not gonna argue but essentially based upon the system he has described so far the system is a major sq nor spl system... He should be perfectly fine with a good batt or 2...

while it would be nice for everyone to have 250 amp alty's its not always truley a necessity.

install it and see what happens. if you get some dimming do the big three and see if that helps. is your the grand prix the GXP? you should be able to find one if yours is the 3.8 a couple people on here running HO alt in there 04+ GPs, if yours is the GXP im not sure about the alt for that.
