Alternator Charging Voltage

I know some cars charge at 13.8volts when the car is warmed up. However, it seems that on hot days and sometimes randomly my voltage drops to 12.8 or 12.2 at idle with no music on. Maybe my alternator going bad? kinda hope so. So i have an excuse to get a HO alt. Car is 98 saturn sl1 btw. Should I get it tested at autozone or wherever?

ya u can go to autozone n get it tested...

The stock alt's probably going out, I actually still have my stock alt from my 97 SL2 that still worked 100% that I could probably sell you
