Alternative to Dynamat?

From what I heard, Dynamat is some pretty heavy stuff...

What I'm hoping for:

-Some sort of padding that will reduce outside noise and reduce inside to outside sounds

-Keep my panels from rattling...

-Better interior sound?

I'm hoping for something CHEAP (best place to get this stuff?) and does the same as dynamat but lighter because I need to save weight on my car.

Also, how do you go about putting this stuff on? Just rip open ur trunk and doors and just tape them everywhere underneath, is that it?

hum...it doesn't way that much? why the need to keep weight down?

if you were lookin for a cheaper alternative but not neccessarily lighter, raamat would be a good idea

I did some dynamat in my old car, didn't really keep panels from rattling, the panels are on top of all the dynamat so it doesn't really stop panel rattles.

The way dynamat works is by adding weight.. if you find a deadener that says it is lighter and works just as well then its probably too good to be true.

There are a few good alternatives to Dynamat Extreme out there.

Raamat BXT

Hushmat

Stinger Road Kill Expert

These are all good.

Whatever you do, Make sure yo ubuy a buyl mat only. Nothing asphalt. That is the important thing.

As far as weight goes, you might want to look in to the liquid dampers> You can apply them as thick or thin as you want, allowing for weigh savings in some areas.
