altenator or capacitor?

my suv has a 105 amp altenator, Im installing 2x 4000 watt amps on 4x rockford 12"s 1x600 watt amp on my mids and highs with 3x 7" lcd screens I also have gps nav system. Should I install a new altenator or just install like 2 capicators 300 amp altenators are much more expensive than capacitors the cheapest Ive found was 500 dollars......anyone got any advice and maybe a cheap parts link

Capacitor is just a waste of money. So I would definately suggest a HO Alt and 2 extra batteries

CAPS don't produce power they only store it.You need power so I would say the biggest alt you can get with 8000 watts.

Why are you trying to cut corners now with a useless cap? If your running 8000 watts and 4 12's plus a nav system and tv's you need the electrical.

caps are good for one thing....when youve been in the game for a few years and look back and think....hmmmm, man I wish i wouldnt have bought that cap way back when i was a noob....you can always find some other DUMBASS NOOB to buy it off of you because the 'know-it-alls' at Best Buy, or Circuit City tell them they need it. why does everyone say caps are useless? they are very useful when used correctly.. i.e. stabilizing voltage rails..

but in your case a HO alternator would be a very wise investment. plus, it seems you are going by max power ratings, i dont know anyone who has 600 watts on their mids.

just a very rough idea of what kinda of output from an alternator would be sufficient, add up all your RMS ratings and divide by 10. should give you roughly a good idea

dont listen to anyone but the guys at best buy or CC and buy the the biggest cap you can find. Make sure to get the one with the digital read out also. If it has a digital read out that will insure you get atleast 5-10 more DEEEEBEEZZZZ out of your system.

In this situation the cap is useless!If he doesn't have the power to supply then why would he stabilize it?Caps are a waste of money.Spend money on an alt and batteries.

which is compeltely false and misleading. explain why caps are a waste of money. without caps there would be no electronics period. they are used in nearly every piece of electronic equipment
