Was looken through the closet the other day and found a box with some of my old system in it. 2 Alpine 3548 amps, Celestion 15" Sub, and a Altec Lansing M series comp set. The Altec Lansing set has the 5 1/4" M514 Mids, TW1 tweeters, and the ALC5 crossovers. I'm thinken about putting a system in my truck but I'm on a tight budget and can't decide if I should put the Altec Lansing comp set in or wait and get a set of PG Rsd65cs. If I decide to wait and get the Rsd65cs will the Alpine 3548 have enough power to push the Rsd65cs? How much of a difference will there be between the Altecs and the rsd65cs. The Altec Lansing comps almost look brand new.
The Altec Mids are showen 50 Watts Nominal and 100 Watts Max @4ohm. The Alpine 3548 is showen 60Wx2@4ohm .. 80wx2@2ohm .. 160Wx1@4ohm. Its going in a 97' Dodge ram ext cab. I bought some adapters for the doors to fit 5 1/4 or 6.5 mids, not sure where to put tweeters though. Anyone know if there's a writeup on where to put the tweeters, or where theres some pics of installs in trucks that shows where to place them?
