Alt Wiring, supposed to be one wire, what are these 2?

find a schematic from a ford mid 80s-90s with a v8. It will have what the wires are.

The **** seller still hasnt emailed me back, I just need to know what needs to happen to make the alt worm, I dont get why it spinning on a belt and having the power output wire to my batteries isnt enough lol
