Alt to battery big 3 issue?

The wire that runs from the alt to battery runs behind the motor and under the intake and is attched somewhere in between....my question is can I diconnect it from both sources and run the big 3 upgrade wire where it is easier?This is on a 1997 Accord.

Yes, DO NOT disconnect that wire, leave it where it is and ADD to it...

and to clarify, the reason is not only for conveniece like in your situation but disconnecting that wire even if it being replaced can cause problems, such as the car realizing the wire is disconncted and wont start or something else, just an example. and it cant hurt to leave it, it just adds to the current capacity

Also you can run your new wire anywhere you want so long as you keep it away from any moving parts and anything that will melt it...
