alt removal

this is a pic of my engine bay i got off google

the alt is directly below that middle plastic cover/tubing. should i remove that myself, if so how, or get a mechanic to replace the alt? i know very little about engines

I can't see it so i can't tell you.. mine was very tight fit.. almost had to drain my coolant take off pipes and take it out but i squeezed it out barely

i have the same truck. just did my alt 2 days ago. that is the stock 130amp just like i had. fairly easy to take off. hardest part is getting the wrench on the tentioner to loosen the belt. Take off the plastic peice that says V8, take off the airfilter tubing from the engine and at the airfilter, remove 3 bolts that screw into the top of the alt/engine that holds down the bracket that hols the spark plug wires, put your wrench on the tentioner and push down to loosen belt while you pull it off the alt, than take the 2 bolts out of the front of the alt and unplug the plugs. Oh forgot at the begining.... DISCONNECT BATTERY! putting it back on is reverse. any questions just pm me
