Alt idle?

When i buy a new alt do i look at the alt idle or just that high number? cause i found an iraggi on ebay it says 200A but then it says 115A idle.

You look at which you will primarily be using it. If you only bump at idle (IF), then you don't want some 1kA @ 5,000rpms and 31A @ idle, get ma drrift?

Well i bump when i drive, but my idle rpm is 1500-2000rpm so i would like to be able to bump while idleing also. I got a RE SX 15" giving about 1200watts rms(from an eD NINe 1). i get massive headlight dimming even when driving.

IDLE at 2krpm? What kinda built motor ya runnin'?

When an alty is rated at idle, it usually is 1krpm or lower, so at 2krpm, you should be receiving almost all of the 200A, I believe. I would have to have more info though. Email Iraggi and tell him this, and see what he says.

That idle seems rather high.

yeah there's no way you idle that high. My explorer idles at around 700 rpms or so. Look into a high idle though, 115 shoudl be fine. You may consider ditching the alt idea and get another battery in the back. I just added a kinetik hc800 in the back and my headlights don't dim anymore. I'm running an mtx 1501d on a thunder 9500 and before my headlights would almost turn completely off, lol. My voltage is always above 13.4v now. That is, off the kinetik of course.

My bad i went and checked it sits at 1200rpm,is that weird ,idk maybe its just because its an import. 2000 Honda Accord LX SDN 4cyl 2.3L. ditch the alt and get the new batt. i rather get the alt cause i'll need it in the long run. right now i got the yellow top batt. oh and honda stock alt for my particular model is only 80A
