I know the big 3 is, pos alt to pos battery, neg battery to chassis, and engine to neg battery. I was wondering is the alternator bracket to battery the same as engine to battery? I would think so, considering it is connected to the engine, but i am not sure.... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

its also good to add another wire going to your fuse box under your hood from the + of the batt //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

What? For what? I hope your joking...

Engine Chasis to ground is the same as Alt. bracket to battery neg. It is different than batt. pos. to alt. pos.

no, he isnt joking, more than just your system requires battery power //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

uh, yeah, and the mfg of the car, in all their brilliance, ran wires for it.

off all the unusual stuff we do in an attempt (often futile) to improve our cars' electrical systems ^^^ that one's got to be at the top of the list of "pointless".

the mfg also ran a wire from the alt to the batt, so what you are saying is thats pointless also? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif or maybe that upgrading your batterys ground is also pointless? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

just add another wire from + of batt to fuse box under the hood also, itll help with lights dimming //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

ok genius -- I guess I'll have to spell it out for you.

When you install amps that can draw 100+A through your charging system, sure, probably not a bad idea to reinforce the wires seeing that current.

The question is -

exactly WHAT circuit running through the stock fuse box has any relation at all to the current being drawn by an aftermarket sound system?

it is POINTLESS

roll your eyes some more, idiot.

There is NO NEED to run a second wire to the fuse box. The car mfg. already has one running there that is PROPERLY fused for the wire size for all the stock electrical components.

Running a second run to the fuse box is pointless, but hey, if you want to waste your time and money, go for it!

ok, if you insist //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif  //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif  //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif  //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif  //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif , but as to your question, everything electrical in your vehicle has a relation to the current being drawn by an aftermarket sound system when it is 99.9% of the time all charged by the same alternator with the main power wire coming from the front battery, where coincedentally enough, your fuse box is also ran to, idiot.

geez - what a douche

It makes no difference at all what you add to the charging system.

The stock electronics are still going to be drawing the same few amps they were before you stuck some completely oversized wire there.

Which, i repeat - makes it completely POINTLESS.

Keep up the good work though! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
