Pretty soon you guys will see a build log titled "Project: "Civic Go Boom". and by boom, i dont mean subs,(ok, i mean subs), but really I mean Exploding Civic. The jist of this project is going to be 2BTL 15"s, and 5000wrms. Ive finally narrowed down my subs, and Now i nead to build around them.

The first step in this project, before a single sub, or amp is even purchased, is getting the car ready. I want this done right the first time, from the ground up. In this first step, the process will be New cranking battery. 2 new batteries for the trunk. Alternator. And the Big 3 done in 0guage.

The scond step will be gutting the car, and putting 2 layers of second skin throuout the hull. In the trunk, there will be probably 4 on the lid, and 3 everywhere else.

Now. I need suggestions on batts, and alts. How much amperage? What do i need to know to make sure my batts and alts will work together. There will also be around an 800w 4 channell amp for highs. Now looking at a total of 5800wrms total, and a $700 budget. So with you guys knowing what kind of power i am going to be running with, and my budget, select me some gear.

700 is a little low to do 3 batts and an alt in a civic. bare minium i would do on that power is 200 amp on the alt and thats if i didnt plan on jamming it a ton. (timely showing off yes but 4 or 5 hours at a time no)

Budget is flexable. I would rather not spend more than $700. But if i have too, thats cool.

It is going to be a DD. It probably wont be played at full volume very much at all. I will jam it at probably 3/4 its capabilities, then rarely push it all the way, and mostly only push it all the way when showing off.

personally i would get a 220 amp alt a kinetik 1400 under the hood and 2 2400's in the back. that would be more than enough to power it well you go any bigger alt wise you would be at well over 400 on just the alt if not already. you could do other batteries too but from what i see people run i would rather have something with more than 55 ah capacity per cell.

If your saying that what you suggested would be more than enough, then how about a 1400 up front, and 2 1800's in the back? or would i be looking at a severe loss?
