alright guys.. i just purchased my first car.. (1995 Caddy Deville) and i was wondering about what kind of subs+ amp and possible a head unit if i still got some money... im looking to spend 800-1000 dollers.. i was intrested in the kicker l5 12's.

im looking for more bass than sound quality, and i listen to mostly rap.

and i got 2 other questions:

Will the kickers fit in a regular circle vented box, asking because a friend can sell me one for pretty cheap.

and

how loud do your subs have to be for your back window to break...

thanks for any input!

Noob question, but yes the round sub box will work but if he is sellin it to for more than 40 bucks or so if was u I would have someone on here to design u a box and u build it yourself. How many subs are u tryin to do? for 2 12" L5 an orion 1200d should work well, head unit is up to u,premier, alpine elcipse etc.

alright.. well the guy ended up just giving me the box..

now the question is.. the 12's and the 15's are the same price on cardomain.. should i get the 15's and get another box.. or should i stick with the box i got (its pretty bad ***)..

and id have to adjust the box a little right..? seemed so.

but i think i have my mind set on the kickers.

also how good do you think this system will sound? like on a scale from 1-10 on bass. thanks for all the help so far!

Generic enclosures for the most part ****. Have someone design and build a box for your particular car and subwoofer, you'll be much happier in the end. With $800-$1000 you'll have to be very budget minded when building a system, but if you want to piece it together, you can get some nice components to start with, and then save more until you get enough stuff to do it the way you want. Don't skimp, because you'll just end up spending more money in the end to get what you really want. There's some pretty good equipment you can get on a budget, but don't forget power upgrades if you want to get serious. You'll eat a lot of your budget on power cables, rca's, etc., so don't forget to add that in.

if you get the right enclosure //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
X2

thats the most impotant thing!

2 15s is gona need no less than 6 cubes vented

or like 4 cubes sealed, make sure you got enough trunk space
