Alpine W505 in a Sierra

I want to install a dual din touchscreen headunit in my '04 GMC Sierra. I am strongly considering the Alpine W505, but when I ran through the checkout process at Crutchfield (short of actually buying the unit) it displayed a note about trimming a metal bracket to make the unit fit in the dash.

Anyway, if anyone has installed this unit or has had issues with fitting a similar dual din unit in my vehicle please post the details. I really like the HU, but I also don't want to have to buy a reciprocating saw to make it fit.

if i recall theres a conversion kit that is like $20 for it to comfortably fit a double din correctly. I did an install on one but it was about two years ago
