Alpine VS Sundown

Hey all,

I am on the verge of nabbing a used sundown at a pretty good price.

However, reading recent posts says that the Alpine PDX line is awesome and very clean.

So which amp is better?

Sundown 100.2 or PDX 150.2

I will be running ID CTX65CS in my front doors.

The PDX is more expensive and smaller, which what I really need! (11x14 or less) while the Sundown is cheaper and barely fits (13.3x9.9).

So which amp would be better for my IDs in terms of sound quality and loudness? I believe they'll be wired at two ohms if I'm right? (2xmids, tweet to 2 channel) So that boosts the performance of both amps a bit.

EDIT: Another thing of notice, either one will be next to a mono amp (Alpine M1005) in a hideaway compartment in the back of my truck. So how do the amps handle heat?

If both fit, I would do sundown. But im also on their nuts right now because I ordered 3 amps from them.

Had an alpine, got a sundown, I enjoy the sundown much more, never used the 100.2, but my 100.4 handles heat very well, they both run very clean signals however and TBH my ears can't tell the difference sound wise

never used either. But from what I read if you got the space go w/ sundown. Read up on there site. I believe they got enough fets ( i think thats what it was) in there small 100.2 amp to power a 1000.1

the pdx and the sundown should be the same in performance.

As sorta mentioned above, if space is at a premium, get the small foot print Alpine. If not, many people are very happy with Sundown.

I would go with the alpine because its smaller and has a regulated power supply.
