Alpine vs. RE

I know yall hate these vs. threads, and i know theres a billion things that come into factor like instal, amp, spl or sq ect. I was wondering which one would you chose for a sql set up?

or RE SE

when I was looking to change my setup I was at the same point and I chose RE .... I think I made the right choice

the new type R is great, but id prefer the SE because it is a tad shallower & more flexible wiht installs

After, i have no amp or box yet. I figure ill be more flexible that way.

i've only heard the type R's and they get really really loud.....so if these guys say the RE is better then go straight wid the RE

My XXX 15 got lower louder and was more accurate in a sealed box(Can't wait to get my new car and build a ported box) than my buddys type x 12 ported. 15 sealed vs 12 ported. I think in proper box with proper power you'll be happy either way.

SE>new type R, at least what my friend has heard, in similar sealed enclosures

both great SQ, he installs alpine and has heard my SE12. says my SE will smoke it SP wise

The SE is still a better driver than the new Type-R.

RE gets my vote

Ok based on the responces ive gotten from this thread im pretty sure im going to go with 2 12' SE's. I was thinking i might get a 1500 wat hifonics amp for them. I figured since the hifonics are overated i wouldnt over power the subs right? What are some other good amps for a fairly low price that would go well with the se's?

Check ebay, Orion will run you $375 shipped with warranty.

$400? Some of the aforementioned will be out of that range unless you go used.

Type R's are really decent drivers if you can find them for a decent price. They get kinda loud, remind me of the magnum but the SQ isnt quite as good
