Alpine vs JL: Guess who Crutchfield picks?

Just messing around with one of the Crutchfield guys, just curious to see his opinion on the PDX 4-channel amps vs JL 300/4 & 450/4.

According to the guy the JL will be MUCH cleaner. He says the JL will have MUCH better sound quality. But he said the Alpine is a hell of a lot more efficient. I was curious because I owned a JL 300/2 V1 a few months ago, upgraded to a NINe.5 and the eD was 10x cleaner, at the same power too. The guy is starting to get an attitude with me.

He says he has listened to all the amps, and the JL amps (including HD series) put the Alpine to shame. But what's odd is they don't even have the JL HD's in stock, so how could the guy be listening to them? Apparently he doesn't want to make an imaginary sale. *******.

Just because they dont have HDs in stock doeasnt mean he couldnt have listened to them.

They get samples, they go to JL headquarters, he may own one himself, his coworker or buddy may own one.

Just chatting with him online, no harm done. Look at the pictures on Crutchfield's site of the salesman, they just sit in an office all day, I'm sure he doesn't mind the entertainment.

i have seen on of the alpine ones before, those things are SMALL! really small expecially for the power they put out.

JL=overrated big time, expensive, good quality

Alpine= cheap, good quality, overrated a little

I called Crutchfield about some coaxial door speakers for my mom's car. Just something very simple that will be a good stock replacement.

He tried to sell me some 97.00 6.5" Polk's......I laughed.

I picked up some 40 buck Pioneers and she loves them.

They work on commission, can you blame them? Whenever you call them asking for advice they usually suggest the most expensive product in your "price range", so to speak.

I know...it was just funny having him trying to convince me I needed some polk db's

with only about 14wrms to give it.

Also, this is for a 48 year old woman. I could tell her the brand is Captain Crunch and she would be like....oh really? how do they sound?
