Alpine TME-680EM LCD Monitor wiring

Hi Members!

I need some informations about Alpine TME-series LCD monitors.

I spent many hours on internet looking for it but it was not successful at the moment. I asked Alpine, no answer comes yet.

Who knows the pinout of that cable?

Alpine TME-680/EM LCD Monitor.

This is for the monitor:

This is for the blackbox:

I need informations for the numbered one.

Thanks in advance!

Best regards,

I wrote to Alpine Hungary because I live in Hungary. It was 9 days ago. No answer comes yet.

Should I write to Alpine HQ?

Please give me the direct e-mail contacts what you have, thanks!

I have a theory about that cable. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

What if the 8 pins are the follows. The order does not matter for the theory.

1. 12V memory

2. 12V ACC

3. GND

4. Audio In L

5. Audio In R

6. Composite Video In

7. Remote Sensor

8. Headphone IR Sensor

or something like this.

If this would be the pinout then I do not need the blackbox to use that Monitor. This is important for me because I bought this for 50 USD without blackbox and the blackbox would be approximately 300 USD...

If the 4., 5., 6. pins would be "special" Alpine communications Bus (Bus Data, Bus GND, etc.) then my theory fails.

Another question:

How can I test the Monitor without damage it?

I am sure that this Monitor needs 12V and GND. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

How can I find that pins?

Any idea?

Sorry for my "funny" english language. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Thanks,

your english is better than many people here, you're doing great!

you need to know the pin-out before proceeding. i recommend a service manual #1. that is your best source for information and worth the small fee. you may not find a manual for that exact model, but you'd have to think that other TME monitors used the same pin-out. WE know that both the 680 and 680EM are the same (based on the manual). Alpine is pretty good at standardizing on a connector and pin-out.

You could try Alpine - Europe as a higher level up, or another country that may have more traffic and thus faster responses.

the monitor will need 11-15VDC.

you cannot test it without knowing the pin out, as well as the video section specs (input/output impedance)

I have downloaded the service manual for model TME-770 for free. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

It contains a lot of informations. I think it is a very deep level for me.

Can I ask you (keep_hope_alive) to have a look at this PDF, if you have some free time?

If yes, please give me your e-mail address, I will send you the PDF.

Maybe you will understand almost everything what I am not. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I wrote an e-mail to the biggest Alpine Service in Hungary and they answered: This is a secret info, how much will I pay for it?

First of all, if I can get it for free, then I prefer this solution. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Anyway, I do not know the price for this kind of information.

At the moment I am looking for the cheapest way to get it.

Thanks,

Leon727

I found the pinout for the cable which is between the blackbox and monitor for TME-770. This model has a touch panel, so I think it is more complicated than TME-680.

TME-770 has a 30pin cable, TME-680 has a 8pin.

Now I will looking for a service manual that contains informations about the "simplest" TME-family LCDs.

8pin rounded cable -> 12pin flat cable

1 -> 8

2 -> 2

3 -> 3

4 -> 5,6,9,10

5 -> 7

6 -> 4

7 -> 1

8 -> 12

These are the connections between the two ends of that cable.

I removed the back panel of the monitor.

There are 2 major chips.

st72f264g2m6 - 28pin (I have the detailed datasheet.)

TW8806 - 128pin (I have the detailed datasheet too.)

12pin connector on the board:

I have a digital multimeter and I measured resistivity between several points.

If it is almost zero then there is a connection between the appropriate points.

First of all, I would like to know, which pins are potential (maybe +12V) and GND (negative).

My suggestion is that pin4 -> pin5,6,9,10 is GND.

Pin8 -> pin12 belongs to DIMMER function.

How can I find out what is the positive pin without damage the monitor?

Thanks,

Leon727
