I've owned the type x before and the xcon is on another level man the alpine cant keep up in SPL neither can the idmax

but,

is the XCON a subwoofer SPL or SQL?

The xcon can sound just as good as a X "depending on the box used" plus it can take boat loads more power and get a good bit louder....
