Hey whatsup guys.

Ive had my new alpine swr 1043d sub for a about 2 months or so and i dont know if im happy with it or not and im HOPING you guys can help me figure something out

i will provide all of my specs

i have it running on an alpine mrp-m500 amp at 2ohms (500rms) on the gian level just one white line above minimum, bass boost on 0, and lpf on 55hz.

the box im using is an mtx bass slammer with .85 sealed cubic feet

i also have it connected to an audio control LC2i LOC because im running off stock HU.

i dont feel as if the bass is strong especially if the sub is supposed to be 600rms (even though im pushing it 500rms. the bass sometimes sounds so crisp and clean but others it sounds kind of muddy. im not sure. my brother has 2 10 inch JL w0 (lowest model JL subs available i believe at 150rms each) and his car thumps way louder than mine and hes had it for over 5 years.

I am buying a Hifonics brutus brz1700.1d amp very soon in hopes of some better bass. im guessing i should get a bigger ported box too? should i go dual?

any help is much appreciated!

set your gains with a dmm and get a better box.
i just bought a digital mutli meter but im not sure how to tune it with that. ive heard that before but not sure how to go about doing it. any tutorials? or just a quick explanation? im a fast learner. also a new box is in the works. im trying to see how much a custom box will cost me "ported" of course. do you know if the R/T enterprise subwoofer boxes are good ?

this is the specs of the box im looking at
