Alpine Stock System???

Hi...

Im new to the forum.

I have a 97 Pontiac Grand Prix I just recently upgraded 2 out of the 3 sets of speakers in it... the fronts and the large ones in the back. These are the replacements...rear 6X9 (Alpine SPS-69C3) 50 Watt RMS. And fronts 5 1/4 (SPS-13C2) 35 Watts RMS.

I also have a Alpine CDA-9853. That puts out 18X4 Watts RMS.

Problem is that whoever had the car before I did Stole the Amp that should be in the trunk on me. My mom has the same car (2 years newer) but it still has the BOSE package like mine does and she has an amp in her trunk.

SO...

I want an Amp to power me up properly. I would prefer to work in the other speakers in the back with the power distribution scheme I need to come up with to select the proper Amp. Im looking for Alpine but am not Dead set. I listen to Rock Music and Beatles So I prefer Sound Quality over BASS.

Can someone help me select an amp and help me figure out how to distribute the power properly

That'll work nicely. It's 40w x 4 @ 4 ohms, so it'll play nice with the alpines you put in. It's also 2 ohm stable, so you could run the rear speakers and the extra set of speakers in the car off the same channels, i would recommend leaving the left-over factory speakers disconnected, tho. They'll probably get way way louder off the same amount of power, and if they're sharing a channel, there'll be no way to equalize them. The other option would be to replace them with alpines as well, and then run them off the same channel as the 6x9's, so they'd all be getting 25 rms. A third option would be hooking your front alpines to the same channel as your rear alpines, and then running those factory speakers off of the rear channels, which would let you equalize the loudness of all 3 pairs, but you'll lose the ability to fade from front to back.

Good luck.

BTW, amplifiers are amplifiers, there's no bass vs sq when choosing an amp. You base it off it's rated power, reliability, and crossover functions that you want. And of course, a well known brand name only sweetens the deal.
