the components or coaxials?I dono about very harsh but i think they are a little bright.
I have them in my girlfriends car running them with a channel on each speaker from her alpine since they have inline crossover, misbass is decent for just a baffle with little amounts of dynamat.
Tweeters are on axis in the sail panels, her 9885 has no eq to speak of but with the treble feature at -1/-2 the harshness goes away. I havent heard a better pair of speakers for the price range...i even liked them more then the PG RSD's....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/hide.gif.2d479cfd917eedfe201353b91522ceab.gif
I don't see how he'd put the tweets in the sail panels w/ the coax set //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gifthe components or coaxials?

The comps are gonna sound better than the coax's. But don't expect too much as they aren't the most efficient speakers (Alpines in general) & are meant to be properly powered. If your stuck on only using hu power, look into a more efficient comp set ie, CDT CL-CLS60A's. But I'd strongly suggest an external amp for any aftermarket set you'd choose.
