You can get the dock connectors on eBay for most HU brands that will charge most iPods now. I've got one for my iPod touch that converts the 12 volt to 5 volt so it will charge.Yeah, I thought about that option. I'm just kind of spoiled by the newer high speed ipod controls from the hu, plus I like how my 7100 charges my ipod.
you would be correct. i really wish i at least had the 9835. i love the bio light display. that is my only beef with this deckThat 9815 isn't bad either though. It's real similar to the 9855 but a couple of years older and I believe it's got the V-Drive Hybrid amp. Correct?
EDIT: and no bio light display
I'd probably trade my 9855 for a 9835 if I had the chance. Most people using a head unit of that caliber wouldn't be using the on-board amp so the V-Drive hybrid amp wouldn't matter too much. I do like the GlideTouch better than having the buttons at the bottom as it really makes it easy to navigate menus, but I think for my application (no external amp in my truck), I'd probably be better off with the V-Drive amp. I think it would be a pretty equal trade.you would be correct. i really wish i at least had the 9835. i love the bio light display. that is my only beef with this deck
yeah i never understood that much. i mean who really uses the internal amp?I'd probably trade my 9855 for a 9835 if I had the chance. I never used the internal amp on my 9855 until I took it out of my car and moved it into my truck. I don't plan on adding an amp to my truck because it's really not worth it. Also, my makeshift front stage sound pretty decent. I have a set of Polk DB 651 coax speakers in the doors and a set of older Alpine Type-S 4x6 speakers in the dash. The Polks are crossed over at 80 Hz and 24 dB/oct. The Alpines have a capacitor inline that supposedly is a crossover at 300 Hz. I can crank it up to the Alpine's limit (about 22) and there's no clipping. Honestly, it sounds pretty good for what it is. It surprised the hell out of me when I cranked it the first time. I'm sure it would sound even better if I could get something with that V-Drive amp for a little more power.yeah i never understood that much. i mean who really uses the internal amp?
Glad you like it. It's definitely a great unit.Ended up buying the 9855. Love it, thanks ejschultz for the advice.

its the same thing imo just looks better. I will say that going through the menu's on this deck are much easier than the 9815. Plus the eq and t/a are easier to set on here tooI saw that. How do you like the 9835? How does it compare to your 9815?
