alpine shuts off randomly

hey ive got an alpine 7995 and it glitches every now and then (it turns off n on multiple times until i detach the face and reconnect it). but once in a long while.. maybe two or three times a week. well today i set the gains on my amp to produce 6 more decibels then it did before. i did this by setting gains with -6db test tones instead of the usual 0db test tones. its way louder but ive noticed that my head unit turns off and then bacc on instantly.. i can tell because the alpine will shut off then turn bacc on immediately and has toload the CD again from where it left off. it doesn't do it multiple times like the glitch described above.. im not sure if its coincidence or if it has to do with the fact i turned the gains up some. i'm going to give it some time and see if it goes away... but can it be that my car cant handle the current draw from the amps? the sub amp is running in 4 ohms and set to produce 800 watts at full... and the components are getting 150 at full.
