alpine quality in jeopardy?

Now that's funny. "Hey check out my new AlpWood...errr wait is it a Kenpine?!?!" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif That very fact alone just says a ton about the homogeneity of the whole industry. They are probably using the same **** components and everthing...it's just a different shaped heatsink or a prettier faceplate.
Now I'm more motivated then ever to give my money to companies like Zapco who put their money into the products, rather than into millions of dollars worth of marketing campaigns.

kenpine *LOL* awsome. That pic was back when they had the phantom face thing. Wish I could find it haha. was great.

hey,the 7541 is like $299, ea4000 $339, and the mrv-f407 was like $600 back in the day(i think)....but used is much less.

I think that Eclipse has one of the best price/performance ratios in all of car audio, and I think they are doing a good job of getting their stuff into the major markets. But to answer your question, I would choose which ever models you are comparing that has the most power/$$$.

Not sure how long you have been in the industry or just a fan, but man if your not in the mainstream industry or "used to be in the mainstream industry" things will make you die laughing. I have seen companies get away with crap that made me die. Like certain amp companies selling the same amp in two different chassies at two different price points with the same board in them *LOL* or a certain amp company selling a 24" long 1000w amp that had a board about 6x6" in it with two large slabs of what looked like lead to make the amp feel heavy. Lets not forget the build houses that sell the same sub to 10 companies with different color cones, connectors and mag configs. Ah man the list goes on and on. But I still love it all.

I agree, if I was to buy a new deck it would be eclipse. Alpine dropped to many features. However will you pry my 9835 out of my hands..? No way. She is an awsome deck //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Think about what you just said Desert, "industry"!! Were talking about a massive consumer electronics industry here....of which mobile electronics is a part. If you have to make 100,000 amps you might get a little crafy in your production methods. And maybe in the process cut a few costs to keep the overhead down.

I've never seen an amplifier production line, but I'm sure they exist. We have Henry Ford to thank for that.

I totally agree //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Not sure if your post was meant as a argument to what I said or you agree *LOL* And most amps are "stuffed" in china these days and board go through final assembly in the us.

I back ya 110% big fella....I was just acknowleding the bigger picture here. One could also draw an analogy to the bicycle industry, for example. There are only like 5 bike manufacturers in the US....but look how many different brands bikes there are out there....100??? I took a tour of the Trek facility in Wisconsin last year and there were real cheddar-headed 'Sconnie folk hand welding aluminum pipes together and then carring the frame over to the next dude in the process. I mean, do you actually think that would happen at Kenpine, Inc ??? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif Quality products cost money! Ever seen an advertisment for a Bentley?

Ok lets take these one at a time. For $225 for the deck brand new... hmmm... I would take an alpine 9853. Feature for feature your Kenwood "which is a nice deck" just got owned in control and ability. Found on ebay for $239, close enough for a deck than whoops another feature for feature. Just does not have the super bling bling screen the kenwood has. But I shop for performance, not bling. For the amp, since you are running a 75w x 4 amp which is not cea certified to my knowledge and has a ghetto silk screen print on the front that says and I quote "975w peak power" in bright red on the front cough "gay shiz" cough... I would hands down chose an alpine mrv-f545 which IS cea certified to put out 125wpc x 4 and does not remind me of... pyramid with the 975w peak power super blinger logo on the front. Also has allot better features at $309.00

And I am not even an alpine fanboy and I understand your a noob. I forgive you //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Also I asked for you to tell me "technically why" you think the gear you have is better than any alpine gear //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
first of all...its 270 for that alpine...thats with shipping!

and.

it puts out 2v.. kenwood:5volt

5-band EQvs4-band...thats a win 4 alpine

i dont see no time alignment on the alpine...

cd S/N alpine: 105db vs 110db

I dont care bout bling and all that, there is just lot more options to tune music with the kenwood mp828...and SQ is much better IMO

...

and for the amplifier, it came with a birth certificate that does 98x4watt @4ohm of CLEAN ones, and trust me, it is powerful

input: 200mV to 4.0V vs Polk input:200mV to 8.0V

S/N ratio of 93dba vs 105dba...

that bright red "975w peak power" is there cuz you looked at ebay *loll*, it isnt there if u buy it at a local dealer, man u dont know wut ur talking about urself... Ill tell you something, I never heard such a beautiful sound from such an amplifier, and ive listened at alpine amp, rockford, infinity, and JL audio, and that Polk that I have is better than all i've heard in terms of SQ, the one that I would compare to the most would be the JL..

And btw, I aint a noob! Alpine is over-priced.

1) If you can hear the S/N ratio of any electronic divice.....I'll give you a dollar!!!

2) Alpine decks have the best T/A features out there.

3) Sound quality is absolute, not relative!! If you buy things based on numbers, you are just buying into marketing crap.

4) If you are comparing Polk to JL as a reference for SQ, you need to listen to more amplifiers!!

Good night, God bless //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

1) Higher S/N ratio means better SQ(more clean, natural sound), so ya u should gimme that dollar as I can hear the difference

2) ya sure...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif

3) I don't buy stuff based on number.. I buy stuff based on manyy reviews and listening test at car audio shops and get what I need for the money! as simple as that...

4) I'm just saying that Polk has very very nice amplifiers in terms of output and nice accurate NATURAL sound(SQ), and I compare it to JL, as the Alpine amplifier dindt come close of doin' it...

If you can hear the difference between 105 and 110 db of s/n...then you must have golden ears.
maybe not from a head unit but from an amplifier its easy to hear the difference between 93 and 105, its just more enjoyable hearing the music with more S/N, as I said, its alot more natural

If you have never heard such a beautiful sound form an amp then you havent heard many amps...and that birth certificate is wortheless unless it is cea compliant:)...

*LOL* ok.... whatever you say //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

For the deck it has the following specs, lots more, but the following are vital...

Bass Engine Pro includes:

6 Channel Digital Time Correction

6 Position HP and LP Digital Crossover

Subwoofer Level Control

Subwoofer Phase Selector

Bass Focus

5 Band Digital Parametric Equalizer

Also the crossover is slope selectable from 6 - 24db /oct

Do I really need to say anything *LOL* the post above speaks for itself hahahaha You think you heard a difference between them..? *LOL* //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/word.gif.64b12e39f936af3b4fff38a1c0bd0244.gif

Last... My god man you live under a rock. A birthsheet means crap anymore. The cea certified # speaks volumes. 93 DBA is the CEA CERTIFIED NUMBER!!! YOU KNOW HOW GOOD 93DB CEA RATED IS? OMG hahahaha

LMAO....then you my friend should be working at Polk Audio because you just might be able to revoultionize the industry!!! BTW, you don't even want to know the S/N ratio of some the most overbuilt, quality made amplifiers on the planet!! Hell I can think of one off the top of my head that sells for $6,600 and has a S/N of
