alpine quality in jeopardy?

If you have never heard such a beautiful sound form an amp then you havent heard many amps...and that birth certificate is wortheless unless it is cea compliant:)...

I admit that I havent heard that many amplifiers.. but out of what ive heard... alpine was CEA compliant, Rockford was CEA compliant, JL Audio is also CEA compliant, and more... still, how would u explain that the Polk i have sound lot cleaner(compared to what ive heard) and hits harder than everything ive heard...

If a tree falls in the forest... and no one is around to... *LOL*

Anyways, you did not "HEAR THOSE AMPS" You heard a system setup with those amps. How they sounded had nothing to do with the amps themselves for the most part. No worries man, your new and it's cool. Do not be offended by the term noob for we all were once. Ask questions and learn. Allot of us have been in the industry for so long it is sickening.

These were all on the same setup?? Using the same speakers??? If this isnt the case then you have many more variables you need at look at before jumping to a conclusion...if you heard the polk in car and the others on a sound board then your conclusion is worthless...Also were the others all tuned properly???

The ratio between the recorded sound and background noise. there u go!

Give me a # //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

You didn't hear the difference between 5 dba.

If you could, you'd have supernatural powers.

That's that.

Seriously man, you need to stop now cause you're just digging yourself in a hole. We are just trying to help you out, but you just keep coming back for more...we all learn differently I guess:crap:

From what I remember from years and years ago when i cared about the s/n of a cd player, the best # I remember "from a player, not a cd" was 120 weighted.... How close am I..? I admit I have no clue, time to learn somthing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Also does it not matter what studio it was recorded in, and all the factors of the recording..?

ive had the MRV-F345 with exact same speakers but another head unit though, and it just wasnt doin' it for me, then went for a try with polk and it was a huge change...litterly... but the other amp wasnt in my setup... only that Alpine

factors, factors, factors... How was she setup, what was turned off and on on the amp, were the crossover settings equal... the f345 has less total rms output than your current... all factors man that is all. Anymore 1 watt = 1 watt period. watt a will sound the exact same as watt b. No more no less. The place were amps differ big time is at the maximum of there output, how much headroom they have when pushed or overdriven. Within rms spec, a watt is just a watt!

Now your statement of a different headunit, that is a biggie. Headunits differ bigtime in quality and output quality. You can have $10K in gear and with a $100 head unit, your funk in trunk will sound like... junk.

I have to agree with that 100% mann conserning HU, but what does headroom means?

Headroom means.. *L* it means how well or gracefull and amp goes into clipping, how well it handles transients "however ya spell it" and just simply how it behaves when pushed over the limit. Most new amps with there crappy powersupplies hit a brick wall and let the smoke out when overdriven, while older amps with no features but a powersupply capable of double the amps output can melt a vc and usually put out twice it's rated power "clipping of course" and survive, speakers usually did not! Usually just getting hot enough to melt your carpet //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
