alpine pxa h800

There is alot that can be wrong here. give us a detailed explanation of how you have everything wired up and take pics of gains on amps as well as how you have everything wired.

We can be so much more helpful with visual aid

i think the problem might be with the wire harness me and my uncle made or the rca plugs we'll have to check on friday when he's off from work
Untrue. I have experienced it myself...a small bit of sound WILL come trough the RCAs (of the external processor) if the headunit is set to 'INT'.

Hey OP take a look at the chassis of your Alpine head unit.
If indeed the Ai-Net cable was used, there would be no need for the RCA's anyway. I guess the new school alpine headunits don't use Ai-Net anymore so RCA's are the only choice. When I first installed the pxa-h800, I had my headunit set as 'INT' also and no sound would come out except from the fiber optic cable. It was driving me crazy. Then I found out about the 'EXT' switch and it finally worked the way it should.

Since OP doesn't have an alpine HU, then the RUX controller must always be plugged in for the processor to even turn on. Kinda annoying for non-alpine users. @alpine7909; make sure all RCA's are plugged in right.. Are you running 2 way + rear or 3 way + rear? or do you have no idea how to use this? Make sure Channel 1 & 2 is for tweeters, 3 & 4 for mids, 5 & 6 for rear and 7 & 8 for sub if you have it. After everything is placed correctly, do the initial setup again and select the appropriate option.

i just finished helping my uncle install a alpine pxa h800 in 2013 touareg when i turn on the power the sound only comes through the front speakers and its at a very low volume i can turn it up all the way and it's still low i already setup the speaker inputs and outputs i even tried the auto imprint eq and it keeps failing so i guess my question is where did i go wrong the system consists of a alpine pxa h800, alpine rux c800, alpine pdx f4, pdx m6, type r speakers and a type r 12 inch subwoofer hopefully someone can help me
Looking at your original post again, I noticed you only have a 4 channel amp and a mono sub amp. You will need atleast another 2 channel amp to run rear speakers, so a total of 6 channels for speakers alone. And don't run your front speakers passively through 2 channels. There's no point of using a processor without going active for the front stage. I have a feeling the whole front set is plugged in through the first 2 channels making it only play higher frequencies, which is probably why it's very low volume. The processor has a safety feature to automatically protect your tweeters from blowing from initial setup.

my uncle really doesn't want to run active and i cant blame him is there anyway we can set the pxa h800 up for full range on front and rears

run "active" but with a full frequency range. just block out the lows. thats what i was told to do with my old cz702. run it 2 way active but have it on through so every frequency gets sent to the passive components and just have a 80-120hz hpf

ok everybody, we got the front speakers to come on fully and man do they sound good. however the rear speakers and subwoofer still wont turn on any ideas?

So when you first set it up, did you choose 2 way + rear + sub? Are you sure you got your RCA's plugged in right? Make sure rears are in Ch 5 & 6 for the processor, and plug them into your Ch 3 & 4 for the amp. Subs should be the last 2 channels for the processor.. Maybe your factory headunit doesn't support that many channels. How is it wired up from HU to processor?

Why did your uncle buy the processor if he's not going active? Just doesn't make any sense... Do you know how much money he spent on it? Waste of money if you ask me. Everything your uncle is doing can be achieved without a processor. You can't use any of the time alignment features, and I don't think you can use the auto imprint EQ. You'll only have a few minimal features that you can get just from a simple aftermarket headunit.

problem with the 2014 vw touareg is you cant change the headunit its built in with the car and yes we set it up for 2 way + rear + sub im going to check the rca plugs again to make sure we plugged them in right
