alpine pdx1000 getting very hot, other questions also!

I bought my amp used and it didn't come with a manual. I didn't want to start taking out screws that I didnt know what they did and break something but I'll try doing what u said. Yea ur right don't know anything other then the basics like just wiring it. Trying to learn what I can.

my pdx1.1000 get pretty warrm when cranked up..not burning hot, but a little warmer than my other pdx amps. make sure your ground is good. Also make sure your fused connection is good..i ran into a problem long time ago with a cheapo fuse holder..lights were dimming etc, found out my fuseholder was half *** melted..also on the 1.1000, i found the voltage selector aint worth a chit, with voltage switch set to 4.0 volts, had to turn gain almost to max..i moved switch to lower voltage setting, and was able to turn gains below half

yea you can take off the front plate and you can adjust things there. Not trying to disrespect or anything, but if I was you, I would go to a reputable car audio place and let someone take care of that part (tunning) Also, do the Big 3, it will help out a lot as it did with mine. (and I have 2 pdx 1000.1). Also, if i were you, I would just run the 0g wire now. It wont hurt anything and in the future if you're going to upgrade to more power, you know you have a good power wire!

yea, the install, box and tunning is a big part of the system. you can have the best of best subs and amps. If you have low quality install, box and other things, you might as well got all sony amps and subs.

dont do it the cheap route. do it right the first time and wont have to change it again
