Yeah, I almost bought a pdx this week, then I saw the guts...

It's a nice and clean -- But for some reason it just don't come off as "beefy" enough to really cause some abuse if you need it too -- (at that price)

I'd go with the MRD -- Unless you want the 1000w across 4/2 Ohms (Like the JL 1000/1) -- I don't see the extra value... *shrug*

The thing with the PDX series is that, especially for the full range ones, you don't watse power like you would with other brands running components. You always get 100% of the power.

You also pay the premium because they have such a small foot print.

Those amps arent about power, it's about beeing compact, fitting in small places, not producing much heat and getting the max power you can.

i wouldn't base my choices on what that amp looks like on the inside....i wouldn't even look at a 1k watt amp's guts, no real point, nothing special

how so?

You'll never get 100% of any amps power when playing music.

I'll see the youngsters running around talking about their systems running X amount of wattage and a couple of different times I've asked how often they roll around blasting test tones at full tilt volume and when I get the blank stares that tell me they haven't a clue as to what I am talking about I quietly tell them they've never gotten even rated RMS output from their amps. It just won't happen...

I know. It's just for $500-$800 range -- I was expecting something more... Like Laser Beams or Leprechauns... *shrug*

Thats what I thought... But every time I tried to refill the salt water, the amp shorted out... So, I returned that piece of junk... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Aight, nuff of this.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif I know, I know, "Don't Judge an Amp By It's cover/guts" -- I resend any previous statements I made about it...
