Alpine PDX amp... Need your help/suggestions

Long story short,

I purchased a PDX series amp online, and its missing the serial number:verymad:

How important is it? I paid for something which i thought was new and legit, and didn't pay 250 or 300 for it. Paid more, amp looks perfect, looks new, but is missing the serial number. What do you guys suggest? Its a mono amp, i would say more chances of it breaking down on me and needing it repaired by ALPINE... any suggestions?????? Thanks

Unless the dealer is authorized, Alpine won't do warranty repair on the amp. Alpine asks for a copy of your proof of purchase when you send it in for warranty repair.

A missing serial number could mean it's a stolen amp or that the amp was sold by a distributor that doesn't want it to be tracked back to him.

Yeah, it works perfect, and i don't plan on dishing out 500.00 to 800.00 to buy from an authorized seller.
