Alpine PDX-5 any good?

I was going to do a 4 channel amp and skip a sub but I think in order to be happy with my system I need to run either an 8" or 10" sub. I'm looking at the Alpine PDX-5 since it does 75w RMS x 4 and 300w x 1. I think this would compliment my Type S speakers pretty well.

Also, what would be a good "budget" sub to compliment the amp. I like tighter bass as I listen to rock so I'd prefer a sealed box with a small foot print. I was thinking of: JL Audio CS110RG-W0v2 or JL Audio CP108TG-W1v2. I heard the JL Audio CP108TG-W1v2 in a local audio store and it hit hard for an 8" sub.
