there are many that stand out alpine 7909 sony es c-90 alpine f1 status sony z-50, clarion had the plain jane dual burr brown deck believe it was the 5620? mcintosh (clarion) had one and you got a whole slew of dennons and nacs out there. pioneer odr is pretty good but dex-m88 i believe it was my fav from them. it was a trend setter first deck with 4v preouts and i still have one....nice deck for 14 yrs old lol but i would say my c-90 could hold up to anything short of its bigger brother (much more expensive as well over $8,000) z-50

pioneer has another line above premier that is called odr. its all digital i dont know how hard it is to get ahold of but couple years ago pioneer pushed odr again with a super team in sq sound offs most of them ran odr decks. if i remember the all fiber out and need the high end odr proccesor to work with regular amps if not you had to use odr amps. only real odr hands on looking at i had though was watching jerry zeigler tune his crx a long time ago.

Well, if you can't get a hold of it then I would say the P9 is the best deck Pioneer has to offer wouldn't you?

thats still a reg line deck what im talkin about is something that is pro quality (not sayin pioneer regular stuff is bad) but its got more actual and pression adjustments to it than the other pioneer stuff ... im talkin 2000 cd players here not 500-800 ..its not for everybody just for those who know how and want to play to be the very best. it looks nothing like the pioneer stuff you are talking about looks more like my c-90 kinda computerized.

No, sorry, its not the same thing. The P90 is the deck with the 10 gigabyte hard drive.

thing is you prolly still can or always could if you knew who to talk to heck 10 yrs after the dex-m88 you could still get them cheap and thing is serious listeners would go after that peice as i would still put it up against those you are talking about now. yuh its 4v like alot of the others but it has a very low output impedence...unlike those you are talking about
