Alpine mutilmedia Help!

I'm looking into buying a multimedia HU for my BMW 540i. I haven't heard anything about the Alpines but i'd like to know cause I've got a good price on the CVA-1003. If anyone knows anything about that particular model or how it stacks up the rest in its price range (around $790) , let me know.
