i have a question about the alpine mrd-m1000.....is it too much for two alpine type R 12's......heres some of the specs of the mrd-m1000:

14.4V RMS Power

1000W x 1 [2 Ohm (1%THD)]

500W x 1 [4 Ohm (1%THD)]

12V RMS Power

700W x 1 [2 Ohm (1%THD)]

350W x 1 [4 Ohm (1%THD)]

the Alpine SWR-1221D's and SWR-1241D's have up to 300watts RMS....and a peak of 1000watts....so is the amp to much.....if not, which sub would be the best.....the dual 2ohm or dual 4ohm version?

I'd run that amp for a pair of those subs in a second. I ran 1200 RMS to my 2 type r's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Since the amp is stable to 2 ohms (or so what u posted says) I would take 2 subs that are dual 2 ohm voice coils so you can wire them to 2 ohms.
