Alpine IVA-w200 vs Eclipse avn6600

anyone here have any experience with either or both of these.....

i've been debatin between these two....

of course if i get the alpine i'll be gettin the alpine iva-w200 with the h701

and the blackbird and the docking station I haven't decided whether or not

i'm gonna be gettin monitors for the rear seats and i htink the w200 only

has a 2volt preout

the eclipse avn6600 has the double dvd slots i really don't know if i'll ever

have a dvd playing in the front and a different dvd playin in the back

doens't really make much sense to me but the deck does have a 5v preout

any suggestions?

AVN 6600 has 5 volt pre-out and built in Navi. I have the eclipse and love it. IPOD interface is great. I have seen, but neer owned the Alpine. I liked the fact the Eclipse has everything in one unit, as opposed to having seperate nav, etc.

if you go with the alpine/H701 combo, then don't worry about the decks preout voltage. You'd use the H701's preouts which are 4volt.
I love Eclipse, wven with the 5v preouts, (voltage is overated) IT's the low impedence is what to look for.

If you don't need the dual DVD slots, then go with the AVN 5500

Either way, definitely make it Eclipse over Alpine.

AVN 5500 does not have the good ipod interface that the 6600 has.

i would actually try to find a dealer with last years 5435. pretty much the 6600 without the full control of an ipod. and the 5435 has a 3 year warrenty from the date of purchase, the 06 models only have a 1 year.

If you want it to sound good - W200/H701 combo FTW!!!!

If you are worried about NAV, 2 disc, etc... then yeah, the Eclipse.

Actually, If you find and purchase a 5435 now, you still will not get the 3 year warranty. They ended with all units purchased somewhere around Feb, IIRC. Also, I believe the 5500 and 6600 have the same Ipod interface.

The AVN has dual disc drives b/c one drive is dedicated to the Navigation DVD while the other can play DVD/CD/Mp3CD/Etc...

That way you can navigate... and listen to music and such at the same time.

i think dealers might have a little play in that, cause i personally know the biggest eclipse dealer around here and he was emphisizing the 3 year warrenty about two months ago.

Trust me thats the policy, I went through alot of crap about it. Unless hes backdating the invoice the warranty is one year.
