Alpine IDa-x305 vs Alpine CDA- 9887?

I noticed how some people say the CDA sounds better, but this doesnt make sense. They have the exact same parts inside, save the 2v pre out on the IDA.

CDA- has 24 bit Burr Browns, only used when you play cds though. If you play an ipod on it, it uses the ipods dac.

IDA- the opposite. Has no cd player, but is made for the ipod. Bypasses the ipods dac and uses its own Burr Brown 24 DAC. COmbined with lossless audio, should sound BETTER than the CDA because no jitter.

The reason I think people think the ida sounds not as good, is because it has very limited eq, but you can buy an add-on that fixes that.

WHat are your opinions on these 2? I only use my ipod loaded with lossless audio.
