Which Alpine HU do you think is the best HU? I'm looking for a new HU, and I want to make sure i'll definatly hear a difference, can anyone reccommend a good HU? Current one is an Alpine CDA-9831.

I was looking at a few though but not sure:

9855 (heard bad things though)

7995 (Haven't really heard anything)

9835

9815

Or should I just go with an In dash unit.. lol. I heard the IVA-310 can't be viewed when the car is on unless it's in park, with the ebrake on, with your foot on the brake, true?..

Suggestions please?

i never heard a 7995 but what from what i've heard its a solid HU. i have heard a 7893 and it sounded pretty good. i've heard the 9815 and the 9835 and they both sounded solid. if it was up to me, i'd get the 9835.

I would open my mind to maybe something other than Alpine. Never know what you might find. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

What are you looking for in a HU...features wise? What's your price range?

There are ways around that. I personally love the look of the 310. If you want an indash that's a good choice.

I think you might want to think about what features you want that you do not have now, and then look for a quality head unit the offers them.

This coming from an Alpine fan.

It seems you have the money so I would go with the 310. There are ways around having to put it into park. Do some research or go to your local car audio shops, they should have the answer for you.

i'm using a 9853 right now, i love it. in my truck i have a 9830. the new ones are proabably going to be out sometime this summer. they did away with the glide touch i think for 06 models.

I have the 9835 and think its great. It looks great in my dash and sounds great using the factory speakers. I'm getting a component system later this week so I expect it to sound even better. Its loaded with features and have never had any problems with it. I've had it for a year and a half. I also like the 9835 graphic display over others regular text display. I don't know much about the others you mentioned, but the 9815 looks good too.

Out of all the ones you have listed, I would reccomend the 9835 assuming you are getting one new in box. It is relatively easy to bypass the screen lockout on the IVA-D310, so I really wouldn't let that deter you from purchasing one if that is what you really want. With the 310 all you need to do is add a switch, wheras say with an AVIC-N2 you have to solder something internally to bypass it...
