Alpine head unit sits too deep in dash.

I got a new ida-x305 and installed it earlier today using the metal sleeve in my 2002 BMW 330 coupe.

Problem is that it seems the head unit is too far inside the single din adapter plate. Crutchfield instructions say to put this little spacer ring behind the sleeve to push it forward but it isn't enough.

I didn't have this problem with my cda-7894 and no sleeve.

Should I not use the sleeve? Or is there an adjustment on the sleeve I have to set?

Did your car have an iso mount? If so there's no harm giving it a shot. Or you could try out a different dash kit.
