Alpine head unit shuts off intermittantly

For some reason my head unit (alpine 9807) intermittantly shuts off. It doesnt 'feel' hot and I am running an xtant 6001TI and a small ppi off of it. Attached to the xtant is a 1 mf stiffening cap and the only problem thus far encountered is the deck shutting off (completely). I can turn it back on usually after a few minutes however it can range anywhere between a minute to a few. The deck upon restarting goes to its factory presets. The only thing that comes to mind is either a loose ground or power. Perhaps it is something internal on teh deck tho the fuses arent tripping. ANyway any insight is appreciated.
