Alright...I think I may have fried something inside my h/u, maybe the internal amp or something b/c my speakers stopped working but my amps and subs still work fine...I checked all the fuses and the fuse in the harness and it was fine...if I did fry something inside the deck, will alpin fix this for me, I still have my warranty.

I got it from the shop by me in the summer...I paid retail for it, I'd imagine I have the warranty, they are a legit shop.

yea i say just go there first and ask what to do //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I just went over to their website and checked out the warranty...

It looks like it's covered under warranty, but when all else fails, try emailing them or calling them and double checking to make sure it's covered by warranty. Plus, if you get in touch with them, they may be able to come up with a way to fix it without you having to send it in. Just a thought.

Good luck,

Mike

It's no biggie for me, I have a "backup" head unit, my old alpine, im gonna throw that in tomorrow and see if it works, if it does, then my 7897 is royally ****ed.

Thanks a lot for the info man:)

Update: Called up shop, got an appointment on Tuesday to bring in my truck and they are gonna take a look at everything...based on what I told the guy, he said it's highly doubtful that I blew the internal amp on the h/u...I'm thinking that maybe I fried the coils on all my speakers:confused: I have no clue, but if thats the case, I'll be glad to get a nice component set, I need an excuse to get one anyways.

i doubt that you fried all ur voice coils...thats a bit extreme coming from H/U power....did your car smell bad? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Smelled fine...I know that I had to bypass my factory amp...could that have possibly reset or something? I know nothing when it comes to wiring.

Brought my truck to the shop...fried the ****ing internal amp, gotta send that **** in to alpine to get it fixed...god **** I'm pissed...got a backup alpine to stick in there though till I get my fixed one back, but I'm pissed off now.

**** **** **** **** **** **** **** **** **** **** **** **** **** ****. This ***** ass. Having a h/u without a remote is like having a car without an engine or a system without subs. It ***** ass.
