ALPINE....Good or Low end???

im looking to get a loud system and was thinking about getting 2 12" Type-R subs (300W RMS each) running on a Sony XM1600GXD amp ( MONO, 400W RMS 1200WPeak). Do you think this would be loud or is there a better option in the price range?

dude that sony amp is a piece and put out nothing near that amount of power. to piss my friend off today b/c he was talking smack i ran 2 12"s at a 4 ohm mono load in my car and my amp does 500wrms at 4 ohm and 750 peak watts at 4 ohms. his 1000watt class D sony amp running 2 HE2 12"s at 1 ohm which puts it at the full 1000 watts didn't put out anything like that and he's running a full farat cap. so in my opinion go on ebay and buy a better amp man. now those are good subs though just get like a Jbl 600 watt amp.

Well if you get a jbl 1200.1 you will have just about enough power for your 2 alpine r's , I know ive been there , They will sound great and hit ok !!

yea, the jbl1200 is a g0od choice, and its at a great price....!

that sony is ok if you already have it try it. i would recomend adire shiva 12's 125 each instead of the type r's
