Alpine G320 issues

I recently bought a face and tried it on my friends brain and it wouldn't turn on. I noticed that the cord had some red tape around the end of it and wires out. Anyone know a fix for this and if it could be anything else?

yeah i texted him he goin fix um. just wanted some other feedback, we both are pretty sure its the wires.
