Alpine DDDrive 12" size box

A friend of mine want to sell me two 12 in. Alpine DDDrive sub. Even if he is telling me they are very good sub, I`m not sure, 'cause they are maybe 2 or 3 years old. And newer sub should sound better ?

Any comments will be appreciate.

Do you have an idea of box size and type ?
