Alpine CDM 7874 Receiver Question

I have the Alpine CDM 7874 deck. I have everything hooked up properly. Only when I turn the subwoofer off on the receiver, the sub does not turn off, it keeps on playing. it is hooked up to the rear pre outs. What do you mean by non-fading though?

you know when you adjust the fader from front to back? well if you have your subs hooked up to the wrong preout your subs will fade too. For instance my friend has a JVC deck with only 1 preout. When he turns the fade for the speakers to only play the rear he subs stop playing too. Therefore the subs get faded out...
