Alpine CDA-9885 High Pass Filter Question

Goodbye!
I have a question regarding the High Pass Filter on the Alpine CDA-9885 Head Unit. A buddy of mine, who used to work at Best Buy, says that the High Pass Filter only works on the Subwoofer RCA and the internal amp. I say it works on the RCAs as well, but he tells me NO.

For one of my cars it is a moot point as my amp, a Rockford Fosgate 25 to Life Power 1000, has built in crossovers. For my other car, I was considering going with an old school setup and my old school amps do not have crossovers. For the record, I liked the CDA-9885 so much, I put one in each vehicle!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Regardless, I just was curious as to how the Alpine High Pass Filter worked.

I figured out the answer to this question on my own. The high pass filter works on the front and rear outputs via the RCA cables but it DOES NOT change the low pass frequency on the subwoofer out. Kind of weird, but at least I know now!
