Alpine bass engine settings?

I have an Alpine CDA-9856, and was wondering where to set the bass engine and treble settings.

bass: the first setting goes from -7 to +7, the second number goes from 0 to 4 and the last number is hz and it goes i think from 60 to 125 or something.

treble: same for the treble except the hz which is like 8, 10 12 or something.

set everything to zero adjust volumes to your likeing if you find you need a lil of this or a lil of that then tweak you eq base engine trebble etc, but just a lil, try to stay near zero on everything

why not go -7?
