Alpine AVI-W520E Help

Hi all,

So, I'm not the most switched on with car audio but I am trying to learn.

I bought an Alpine IVA-W520E head unit a while ago now, and have only recently been able to install it. I have noticed, however, that a lot of the setup menus are not showing up, and the screen blacks out after a few seconds, almost like its putting the screen to sleep.

I'm thinking that maybe its in a demo mode or something still, but can't see where the fix is.

If found this through not being able to change the time, all that comes up when you press setup is the basic audio setup tabs.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Wish I could help you. I'm not very impressed with my Alpine CDE-153BT's on-display menu-ing! Can't even find what I'm looking for, how to always permanently display the MP3 file information for the MP3 file that is currently playing!! Alpine has fallen into the overfeatured maze/black hole of trying to please all the people all the time which NO ONE can do! And they seem to have been successful and made their audio equipment barely useable! :-(
