Alpine all the way! Suggestions please!

I grabbed the CTX65cs but they're 6.5s, he said he needs 5.25 for the front.Since misfit knows his stuff then I'll throw differnt amp suggestion //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

For subs, depending how much u need

SSA Store - Sundown Audio SAE-1200D Amplifier 1500+ watts

SSA Shop - Sundown Audio SAZ-1000D amplifier

SSA Shop - Sundown Audio SAX-125.2 amplifier

For the speakers, try looking for used Sundown 50.4
Minor modifications will allow a 6.5" speaker to be installed in place of a 5.25" 99.9% of the time...

Oh, and I listed the Discus amps (like always), because they perform well and they're cheap as shit. Spending less money on an amplifier that still performs relatively well will open up money within his budget for sound deadener...

First off dude - No one has explained why Best Buy is a horrible install place. Those guys get paid to put stuff in as quick and cheap as possible. There have been many people on this site that got shit installed at best buy and had to get best buy to take it and reinstall it several times and then just decided to go else where.

Second - I dont know if you are OCD or just think its cute to have matching stuff but you need to pull your mind of Alpine. There is sooooo much better for the money, expecially in the sub and amps catagoreys. The only Alpine shit ill use anymore is the Headunits/Processors and stuff. When you buy alpine you are mostly paying for the name IMO and the only thing worth the cash they want is the Headunits.

The people who have made solid suggestions on equipment are trying to do a few things. 1) Get a new member into this hobby, 2) Make sure that new member doesnt waste money on lack luster equipment. All of these people so far have given you advice based on personal experience and testing, Best buy and all that gives you advice on trying to get the most money out of your pockets.

Yup, and to take it a little further I'd like to touch on my feelings about paying for ANY basic install. Paying hundreds of dollars to have a set of speakers, a cd player and a few amps wired up is simply ridiculous. I know the process seems intricate or overwhelming when you don't know much, but it's really not that bad. Asking a few questions and doing a little reading should have any semi-intelligent person ready to run & hide a few wires.

The one thing I can condone is paying to have enclosures and/or speaker pods fabricated. It just makes sense, because some people aren't suited to carpentry for one reason or another. Sometimes it can be as simple as not having the proper tools or a place in which to work, but it can go deeper than that. Many people don't know how to properly design an enclosure, especially if they desire something outside of the standard rectangular shaped, sealed "box"...

You could be right about the OCD when it comes to matching components. Plus I suppose I have the feeling that matching the components by brand would result in a better sounding system.

Why does everyone always say this???

Jeez!!

Its like if people are not running the cheapest crap they can find like some people try to do, its gonna be a waste.

If he likes the Alpine sound then let him do it.

Its not your money.

The only thing that I've been able to get away from as far as Alpine is concerned with this system is the 4 Channel amp.

Phoenix Gold 4 Channel Amp v754 - Priced between $115- $150

4 ohms: 75 watts x 4 chan.

2 ohms: 130 watts x 4 chan.

Bridged, 4 ohms: 250 watts x 2 chan.

Paying for a name isn't bad if it's a good name right?

Deck - Alpine IDA-X305 - 2010 BLOWOUT SALE

Front Speakers -(Max Rms 80) Alpine SPX-13PRO 5-1/4 inch Component 2-Way Speaker: SPX-13PRO Car Audio Giants

Rear Speakers(Max Rms 80) - Samurai Automotive: CE: Alpine SPS-600 6 1/2" Coaxial 2-Way Speaker Set

Sub Amp - Amazon.com: Alpine MRP-M1000 - Amplifier - 1-channel: Electronics

Sub - AV Home Systems: SWX-1243D 12" Subwoofer by Alpine or I may go with.....
