So i just found out I will most likely be getting a new vehicle next weekend as long as its not sold. Its a 1999 ford explorer. Well I just bought my Alpine 9886 and I love it and really want to be able to put it in there. I have never had this problem with any of my vehicles because I've only had single din openings. I just wanted to see if anyone knew where I could buy something that would let me be able to put my alpine in the double din opening, and it not look to bad.

Now I dont have to worry about space for my two 18's :]

Really, I didnt think it'd be that easy...I know they have them, but is it going to look stupid having a single din in a double din opening?

I will check it out, gotta make sure I'm getting the explorer first.
Whats your reason for getting a kit from there instead, J/W?
I dont want to speak for him but I'd say because Metra will be of better quality and a local shop because your giving local guys business instead of big box stores

You're more than welcome to speak for me in this instance //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

That's my reasoning as well. I have found Metra dash kits to be of higher quality than any other manufacturer. With the little difference in price why not get the better product?

Don't waste your time with any other kit. Get the Metra one, and you'll be happy. I use Metra kits all the time. When we're out of stock on a kit, we have to get it from BB, where they sell Dynex kits. They're made by Metra, but they're shit quality. The kit will just use a pocket to take up the extra space.

Buy quality. I've had a cheap aftermarket plastic dash kit snap on me, not while I was doing anything with it it just snapped while I was driving along.
