yup thats the one. i used mine on my 9853 to control a buddies 9856 last night after we put it in. it also comes with a faceplate case, but the faceplate isnt detachable???

the faceplate is detachable. just push a button in the upp right hand corner and it pops off

Well - not quite. I just installed a 9856 that my wife gave me for Christmas.

Push the button in the upper left hand corner to flip the face down; when in the down position then move it to the left, then pull out on the left side & the face detaches.

For me at least, it comes off easier than it goes back on.
